PSAT
– The new hot hub of Career Opportunities for Self Employment,
Entrepreneurship as well as Campus Placements!!! We welcome
innovative project ideas for service to society.
We are proud to announce that amongst the various states
of the country, UP has been extremely lucky to have been
selected for establishing an Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Development (IED) Centre, the novel venture of
the Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India.
UP is amongst the eight states which have been
chosen for the same.
Of all the institutes in UP, Pranveer Singh Institute of
Technology (PSIT) has been the only institute to have been
accepted and granted the status of an IED Centre through
a national level selection, on the basis of performance,
infrastructure, projects proposed and the vision to be associated
with the GOI. Significantly, five projects of PSAT
have already been approved and the government is
going to grant them a lac of rupees per project and Rs.30,000
to each student to develop the prototype.
Moreover, the Dept. of Science and Technology, will further
give a grant of five lakh rupees each to the projects if
they are marketable and feasible.
However, it is not just going to benefit the PSATians.
PSAT getting this status gives students
of all colleges, artisans, entrepreneurs, working professionals
an opportunity to move into self-employment. Anyone with
an innovative project related to upliftment of rural areas,
improving the power scenario, or any such thing in fields
like electrical, electronics etc meant to serve the society
are welcome to submit their ideas to the IED Centre at PSAT.
In addition to this opportunity to PSAT
for self-employment, for once, the industrial giants including
IBM, Oracle and Microsoft have had a tie-up
with PSAT for value addition in terms of
skills related to Computer Science, Electronics, and Information
Technology. PSAT gives on-campus facilities
for getting certified in above company courses.
With these additional skills added in their CVs,
engineering students of PSAT in the year 2010 have been
getting placement offers at the campus placement drives
for better job opportunities. We, are therefore, proud to
declare that PSAT is the new hot hub of career opportunities
for self-employment as well as campus placements.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC)
is being promoted in educational institutions to develop
institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture
and to foster techno-entrepreneurship for generation of
wealth and employment by S&T persons. The IEDCs are
established in academic institutions (science colleges,
engineering colleges, universities, management institutes)
having requisite expertise and infrastructure.
The mission of the IEDCs is to "develop institutional
mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture in academic
institutions to foster growth of innovation and entrepreneurship
amongst the faculty and students".
